| A BESPOKE VOYAGE
IN THE TUAMOTU ISLANDS
Explore a world of difference.
On the 9th,16th, 23rd and 30th of November 2009, Nomade Yachting Bora Bora will exceptionally position the Ti’a Moana in the Tuamotu Archipelago, renowned for the purity of its lagoons, and for the production of Tahitian black pearls, “jewels of the sea”.
Nomade Yachting Bora Bora has chosen to introduce you to Fakarava for her well preserved diving reputation, Tahanea for her wilderness and Kauehi for a glimpse of a true Paumotu lifestyle. Catering to discerning travelers in their quest for something more, and to travelers in search of the unforgettable, we invite you to seize the occasion of a lifetime. Bon voyage!
THE ISLANDS
The Tuamotu Archipelago, excluding the high volcanic cluster of Mangareva and its neighbor, consists of 77 islands, also called the Paumotu archipelago. This archipelago is remote from all continents and is little known. After the introduction of Christianity, many atolls that were previously bare of coconuts were heavily planted, often under the guidance of missionaries, and a reasonably prosperous coprah industry developed. Meanwhile, the pearl shell industry continued with ships operating out of Tahiti. The Tuamotu are considered today as a unique reservoir of black pearls.
